Born at Concordia University’s District 3 Innovation Hub, our program is free and open to entrepreneurs from all industries across the Greater Montreal Area.
MentorConnect is based on the MIT Venture Mentoring Service model, which sets the gold standard for mentorship in innovation and entrepreneurship.
Using a team-based approach, groups of three mentors volunteer their time and expertise within the MentorConnect framework to support founders in a safe, confidential, and collaborative environment, one designed to help ventures reach their full potential.
Our mentors follow strict ethical guidelines, take no equity, and remain focused solely on your success. At MentorConnect, we’re committed to providing a conflict-of-interest-free space where founders can grow with confidence.
Our mentors create meaningful, long-term impact, helping shape not only businesses, but the leaders behind them.

Application & Selection Process
After a venture applies, we conduct a two-step selection process. First, the startup has an initial interview with two mentors to assess fit. If that goes well, the startup presents in front of our panel of mentors, a process that takes place approximately every two months on a rolling basis.
Your application is processed within 10 business days of reception.
Once accepted, the startup is paired with 3 mentors best suited to your needs, who volunteer to work with the founders, each bringing unique insights and experiences. This mentorship has no end date, allowing both mentors and founders the flexibility to adapt the relationship as the startup grows.
Together, they work to provide guidance tailored to help the startup grow and scale.
MentorConnect meetings typically last 90 minutes, with the frequency set by mutual agreement between the startup and the mentor team. Working as a group, your mentors provide diverse perspectives to guide your journey and help you achieve meaningful growth.
After pairing, you’ll meet with your mentors as needed to discuss any aspect of your business.
The line between success and failure is always about the people, the ability to innovate, to move forward whatever the chaos or curveball that erupts along the way.
Questions? We have answers
MentorConnect is open to all venture teams and experienced business leaders in the greater Montreal region.
For entrepreneurs, your intellectual property remains your own, and we don’t take equity or charge any fees. Mentors are volunteers and follow a strict ethical code of conduct to create a safe space, which means they cannot invest in startups they mentor.
As long as the mentees and mentors think it is beneficial for the startup. On average, they meet every two months with mentors and can request additional meetings on a per need basis.
